On Wednesday, 22nd of December 2010. meeting was held at the Laboratory for Renewable Energy Sources on FER which was attended by rector of the University prof.dr.sc. Aleksa Bjeliš, vice rector prof.dr.sc. Melita Kovačević, vice rector prof.dr.sc. Bojan Baletić and deans of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture prof.dr.sc. Nedjeljko Perić and prof.dr.sc. Ivan Juraga with vice deans. On the meeting were discussed the preparations for the round table titled Renewable Energy, Advanced Networks and Energy Efficiency that will be held in March 2011.
The round table will focus predominantly on the launch of a multidisciplinary research and development program that would result in advanced concepts and technical foundation for the development of the energy industry in Croatia in the field of renewable energy sources. Also, it will point out the importance of renewable energy in the context of energy efficiency and building of advanced energy networks (smart grids), and the structural challenges of transport equipment/systems and building related to renewable energy sources. Round table is being organized by the technical and biotechnical faculties from University of Zagreb: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Forestry and Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology.
